[CAHK] supports the enhanced Code of Practice and participates the Launch Ceremony of the enhanced Industry Regulatory Scheme for Marketing Calls

Since March 2011, Communications Association  of Hong Kong (CAHK) published its "Code of Practice for Person-to-Person Marketing Calls", a self-regulatory scheme that its member telecommunication service providers voluntarily participated.

The "Code of Practice" further enhanced in 11 June 2024 and has a 6-month implementation period to ensure a reasonable transition period before the code comes into full effect.

After "Code of Practice" refined in 2024, telemarketers will reveal more details of their identities upon request as well as limiting the number of cold calls made to a telephone number within a period. To access the full text of the Industry Code and the list of the participating telecommunications operators, please click  here.

CAHK Vice Chairman Bruce Lam participated the Launch Ceremony of the Enhanced Industry Regulatory Scheme for Marketing Calls jointly hosted by the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) on  June 26, 2024 with a total of twelve trade associations from seven industries in attendance, namely telecommunications, finance, insurance, call centers, beauty, estate agencies and money lenders .
